Strawberry Fires

a four-person band posing against a white shipping container or metal wall. In the foreground sits a man wearing glasses and a burgundy and white vertically striped shirt. Standing behind him are three other men: on the left, a man in a light grey/striped jacket over a white t-shirt with dark trousers; in the middle, a man with reddish/ginger hair wearing a green/olive overshirt with a white t-shirt and blue jeans; and on the right, a man with a shaved head in a navy blue jacket or hoodie. All four have serious expressions common in band promotional photos. The setting appears industrial, with the clean white background providing contrast to their casual but coordinated styling.

Strawberry Fires is the latest project of Teesside via London talent Andrew Green who some may remember from such local luminaries as Monday’s Company and The Last Stand. The four-piece indie rockers (taking their influence from Kings of Leon, The Killers and The Strokes) have already headlined the O2 Academy Islington and sold out Camden Assembly. Tracks like Oway and Lost Town may betray Andrew’s Teesside folk and indie roots however all of the band come from very different backgrounds allowing them to incorporate funk, math rock and jazz into their sound.
