Parissa Zarifi

Following a successful debut album launch in September 2024, Teesside’s Parissa Zarifi is considered to be one of the North East’s most exciting rising stars. Her album Sing For My Soul announced her unique style, featuring haunting and lyrical vocals alongside improvised violin loops. Inspired by nature, love, truth and the macabre, Zarifi says her ethereal and emotive brand of folk is a way for her to foster connections. Full of poetry, richly layered arrangements and imagery, the Middlesbrough-based singer songwriter draws inspiration from musical powerhouses like Janis Joplin, Joan Baez, Jimi Hendrix and Chris Cornell.
