9.30pm WHITE

White are a five-piece band from Glasgow who were one of the hits at last year’s Great Escape festival and have been hotly tipped from all sides of the industry, from NME, The Skinny, Gigwise and The Guardian who went as far to heap this praise upon their recent sing le Future Pleasures ‘It is a spectacular way for White to announce themselves, and given its sound and cerebral dance attack, we consider it one of the finest debuts from a Glaswegian outfit since Franz Ferdinand’s Take Me Out.’

Whilst their musical style is hard to pin down this has marked them apart from many other bands on the emerging Scottish scene, by successfully embracing a strong early 1980s British influence you will pick up on dance-floor friendly echoes of Soft Cell, Haircut 100, Nile Rogers, Roxy Music and many more. The great thing about White is that as well as referencing a bygone pop era, they also manage to convey substance and sit favourably alongside many of their less dynamic indie-disco peers.

Fans of David Bowie, LCD Soundsystem and Franz Ferdinand should make sure that White are firmly placed on their bands to see list at next year’s festival.
